How it Works

GetYourFix was created to introduce pet “Owners” in need and “Donors” who want to help by funding a spay/neuter surgery. This is a FREE service sponsored by the FiXiT Foundation in order to connect people to help animals. Below are the steps to follow and click here to read example "Fix" Stories. 
 

Are you a cat or dog Owner who needs help?

Step 1: Create a FREE account! This will enable you to post pet profiles and be contacted by Funders.

Step 2: Create a profile for your Pet(s). After you have created your account, you will be able to post profiles for your pet(s) which Funders will search.

Step 3: Wait to be Selected by a Donor. When a Donor selects your pet, they will email you via the system to coordinate. In preparation for your pet’s fix, we recommend you find a low-cost clinic in your area so you are ready to go. Your pet profile will expire after 30 days, but don't worry we'll let you know so that you can reactivate it.

AND - increase your chances of finding a donor by telling others! You can email your profile link to people, post it on Facebook or MySpace, Tweet about it, etc. Let others know what you are trying to do and they will pass it on.

Want to sponsor an animal by funding a fix?

Step 1: Create a FREE account! Your data is completely confidential.

Step 2: Select a Pet to Help. Once you have created an account, you can either contact Owners via our anonymous email system OR ask FiXiT to coordinate helping your animal of choice. 

Step 3: Select a Clinic & Provide Payment. If you work directly with an Owner, you will select a clinic together and simply provide the clinic payment. We have provided a list of clinic databases by state that we recommend you use to ensure you are utilizing a reputable clinic. Or - FiXiT can do the research to find a clinic, identify the cost, take your donation, and coordinate with the owner - it's up to you!

1. We recommend only using the anonymous email tool provided within the GetYourFix system to maintain your privacy. 
2. The list of clinics provided is for reference only. We don't guarantee any clinic's quality. The pet Owner and Funder are responsible for picking an appropriate clinic. 
3. We don't recommend exchanging any billing information. The funds should be paid either directly to the clinic you select or through the FiXiT Foundation as we are available to help with coordination. 
4. Payments supplied directly to vet clinics are not tax deductible as a donation to FiXiT Foundation. Please contact us for alternative solutions for making your GetYourFix sponsorship tax deductible.
